Laci Olah is a classically trained violinist, orchestrator, arranger, and teacher. A sixth-generation musician, his musical identity has been shaped by a rich family heritage and, in particular, by his father, a classically trained jazz pianist. This combination of classical training and a strong improvisational instinct has become a defining characteristic of his work, enabling him to move fluidly between musical genres and artistic disciplines.

His versatility as a performer, arranger, and orchestrator has led to collaborations with artists and ensembles across a broad musical spectrum, encompassing classical, jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre, and film music. Equally at home in spontaneous improvisation and detailed orchestral work, he has contributed to numerous recordings and live productions throughout his career.

In 2001, Laci was awarded First Prize at the Dexia Competition. During his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, his talent was recognised by the distinguished violinist Igor Oistrakh, who accepted him into his class. He subsequently continued his studies with Lilia Umnova at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, graduating in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Music, specialising in Music Pedagogy, with distinction.

From 2007 to 2011, Laci served as concertmaster and soloist with the string ensemble “Timur Und Seine Mannschaft”. His work with the ensemble contributed significantly to his development as an orchestral and chamber musician, while further establishing his versatility as both a leader and solo performer.

Between 2011 and 2013, he became active in Belgium’s musical theatre scene, participating in productions of Oliver! and Fiddler on the Roof, in which he performed the role of the fiddler. During this period, he also co-wrote the music and performed for the WWII-themed theatre production Red Strawberries.

In 2012, Laci was appointed concertmaster of the Hooverphonic with Orchestra project. His collaboration with Hooverphonic resulted in two album recordings and a live DVD, alongside more than 50 concerts over a two-year period in some of Belgium’s most prestigious venues. He also performed with the band on numerous television and radio programmes.

Since relocating to London in 2014, Laci has continued to develop a multifaceted career encompassing performance, education, orchestration, and artistic direction. He currently holds teaching positions at Dartford Grammar School for Boys and the London Youth Conservatoire, while also serving as Artistic Director and teacher at the East Dulwich School of Strings.

In 2017, he joined Vox Vanguard, an immersive classical art production company under the leadership of Matthew Tosca, specialising in bespoke artistic experiences for leading international brands. Working as an artistic advisor, orchestrator, and artist, Laci became an integral part of the company’s creative output. What began as a collaboration has evolved into a long-standing creative partnership that continues to this day, encompassing a wide range of high-profile artistic, corporate, and international projects.

Since 2018, Laci has been leading The Infinity Orchestra, collaborating with Okiem Warmann on corporate events, concerts, and music festivals. Together with Okiem and The Infinity Orchestra, he has toured throughout Europe with a rendition of Dr. Dre’s 2001, bringing the album to life in a live orchestral setting. He has also performed with Burna Boy at the O2 Arena and collaborated on a track for Burna Boy’s Grammy Award performance in 2021.

From 2019 to 2022, Laci served as co-leader of the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the 2022 season, he toured with Ministry of Sound Disco and joined the Down for the Count Jazz Orchestra, with whom he continues to tour regularly throughout the UK.

In the following year, Laci joined The Kingdom Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall for the UK launch of Gregory Porter’s new album.

His career has also extended into high-profile private and corporate events. In June 2025, he was invited to perform at Jeff Bezos’ wedding in Venice. The following month, he performed for Dolce & Gabbana in Rome.

More recently, Laci has continued to expand his work across recording, orchestration, and bespoke musical production. He recorded for the mobile game Royal Kingdom and for Rolex, as well as recording a double CD with the Down for the Count Orchestra. He has also created arrangements for corporate events hosted by Patek Philippe in Hong Kong, in collaboration with Vox Vanguard and performed a private event for the luxury watch brand Vacheron Constantin.

Across his career, Laci Olah has established himself as a versatile and highly adaptable musician, bringing together classical discipline, improvisational freedom, orchestral expertise, and contemporary artistic sensibility. His work continues to bridge musical traditions and genres, creating distinctive musical experiences for audiences, artists, and international brands alike.
